Mommies are just as important!

Pregnancy is the time most women will be the very special someone to the people around them. They are given extra attention, love and care for enduring one of the greatest task in life and carrying one of the best gift life has to offer. But sometimes, the endless attention goes straight for the baby, making some of us feel unimportant, or not as important. You've to do this and that, for the baby. You shouldn't do this and that, for the baby. The baby tops the chart of everyone's heart, sometimes, it seems.

But mommies are just as important!

After all, a happy, healthy and ready-to-be mother is just as important as a happy and healthy baby. What more is the mommy will determine the well-being of the latter. If you're unwell emotionally and physically, your baby won't be fine either. The baby in you needs you to be healthy and happy just as much as you want him/her to be. A first time experience will be the most challenging. The second and third one might be either, especially when there's a lot to be done and taking good care of your emotions and health means ensuring youself to make time for it.

The first trimester with the all-day nauseous feeling, vomitting, loss of appetite, restless nights and days and whatever not is surely depressing. Most women usually have a better 2nd trimester but the final stage won't be as easy nor easier. Sleepless nights due to the heavy load you're carrying and the toiletting you need to do, might be filling your days with negative emotions. Sometimes you'll just feel like not doing anything. I'll just entertain my sickness and let the dark clouds swallow me! But that wouldn't certainly help. I spent my first pregnancy feeling very sick, unhappy and not wanting anything only to find myself feeling more distress and fatigue. Now, having another baby, I've realised that I didn't take good care of myself properly through those beautiful times though everyone else is. Putting your own well-being into priority is a must, being pregnant doesn't mean you shouldn't be happy and exciting!

Get some friends to come over or have a nice evening walk around the park with your partner. Once in a while treat yourself with yummy chocolate and ice-creams, put on something nice and dress up! It's not time to get ugly, it's time to be creative. Start a new hobby or join the blogging mommies community. Share your feelings and thoughts about pregnancy with others and believe me, you're not alone in the world of moms to be! Travelling will be a great idea too, it might be time for another honeymoon? ;)
